U2 to finally appear on Jimmy Fallon
Last year, U2 were meant to appear on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon for a week-long residency in late November. Unfortunately, as our readers will doubtlessly recall, Bono took a tumble off his bike and plans had to be postponed.
Well, that's finally been rescheduled. U2 are listed as an upcoming guest on the show's website. It doesn't give a date yet, but Stereogum reports that the performance will take place on Friday, 8 May, and that U2 are the only guest scheduled for that show. It makes sense for U2 to appear on this date. At some point, the band need to shift from the Pacific Coliseum to the Rogers Arena. The Rogers Arena is available after 7 May, so on the 8th U2 are free to perform in New York while the stage is torn down in the Pacific Coliseum and moved to the Rogers Arena for final rehearsals ahead of opening night.
