Performance:
Night 2 in Sao Paulo was a great one with the boys. Probably not in the top 3 PopMart performances they gave, but it's still a damn good show with really no lulls. Energy was high, they sound fairly tight...the encore doesn't do it for me anymore though. I get bored listening to WOWY/Batman/Mysterious/One...each generally clocking in at over 6 minutes. You have to spread those longer jams out...my ears get tired of it after awhile. Plus, MW just doesn't work at the end of a show for me. Belongs in the first half.
Audience:
Can't really hear them too much, and when you can, they're clapping...out of time. WOWY really got to me because of the audience clapping incorrectly. They add nothing really positive to this show, which is sad for a South American boot.
Sound:
Just alright, for me. Was expecting a lot more from a 5-star rated source...this sounds decently average. Completely listenable, but not stellar by any means, even for the time period.
Overall:
I had a good time with this show, but not a GREAT time. It's really more a 3.75, but why not round up.
Highlights: Until/World, New Years Day, All I Want Is You, Please, Streets
Lowlights: I don't care for IWF PopMart style, so that didn't really go over well, and this bootleg was missing Discotheque for me. Maybe my download was just corrupted or whatever, but that was sort of a bummer.
ULTIMATE HIGHLIGHT: PopMart shows that closed with 40 ended breathtakingly. This is no exception. 40 is amazing when its played on this tour, and the show ends as every U2 show really should.
