Performance:
A decent performance. Nothing over the top. I did very much enjoy Discotheque and Staring at the Sun, though Sweetest Thing was shaky and thats usually a highlight for me.

One thing, though- I did not catch the snippets of "Losing My Religion" or "Everybody Hurts" at the end of One, which is part of the reason I downloaded the show. Perhaps they were just cut from the recording.

Audience:
Barely heard, obviously because its a soundboard. Couple times they showed through.

 

Sound:
Pretty great SB with some crackles and pops.

Overall:
Not a huge fan of SB's but this is a great sounding one. Listened to the show mainly for the early Elevation setlist, and it delivered. Sweetest Thing was shaky like I mentioned above, and parts of Streets seemed like the band were off with each other. Other than that though, the other performances were just as good as they should be. Three or so nights in, they were still working out the kinks. Worth a listen.

Performance: Good gig. A few really awesome (BTBS, New York, Mysterious Ways and a great acoustic set) songs a few average... Audience: Nice crowd, but not worth mentioning. They're not annoying, that's most important. But there weren't really great sing-alongs. Sound: Very good sound Overall: Good performance, but not anything special. Great sound thats most important. The band was okay, but again not really anything special.

Performance: This part is only rated, not commented on. Audience: This part is only rated, not commented on. Sound: I wish all bootlegs could sound this good. The guitar and the vocals are the most important to me, and those very pristine. The bass and drums are also set at appropriate levels. Some may find this to be too glossy and not a true "live" feeling, but I think I'll be listening to this recording many, many times. Overall: I've listened to quite a few other five star bootlegs on this site that had much, much worse sound quality.

Performance: Very good show early into the tour.Discotheque sounds great..I always liked that song live..the studio version was brutal. Audience: What you can hear..they sound into it..the soundboard cuts them off. Sound: The sound is very good.What you have here is Bonos vocals very clear and above the music.I wish the music itself could have been a bit louder.The bass does sound very good in spots.The tic,tic tic gets to be a bit much.This is not 5 stars.The best sounding bootleg on here from Elevation is the broadcast from South Bend and a close second is 10.25.01 from NYC..This show SOUNDS like a really good EARPIECE recording.But if you are a big fan like most of us that use this site ,you will take it and run as I did. Overall: The thing I like best, is that U2 actually play a few different tunes on this night.Discotheque,Sweetest Thing and Ground Beneath.I dont know why they were not a part of the setlist more often.. great songs..and the main reason I went for this show.For some reason the band do not release live material on cd.......strange for such a great live band.......enjoy this..........I have.

Performance: A very enjoyable and excellent performance by U2. They played a lot of material from the Pop album including Discotheque and Staring at The Sun plus rare performances of The Sweetest Thing and The Ground Beneath Her Feet which is also a bonus. Discotheque is performed in a way similar to the Popmart version but closer to the Best of 1990-2000 version. Staring At The Sun is sung at the end of it. Its more of a very lengthy snippet than a full performance of the song though. Audience: You can't really hear them so i gave it 4 stars Sound: Very very clear. Sounds like an official recording although there is this really annoying beat thing in the backround like a click track or something. It sounds more like a bono earpiece than a soundboard. It's still very good sound though and after a few listens i realized that you can't really hear the maraca, beat thing in the middle of the songs. Overall: This bootleg is a good choice to get since it includes many rare performances of songs. Highlights: Elevation - Really good version that merges with the intro song on the PA Gone - Really good post-popmart version although popmart ones are best Discotheque - Reconstructed yet again and it's a really good performance New York - Really good TGBHF - Great version of this live rarity Sweetest Thing - OK performance and a nice surprise with Bono on the piano! The Fly - Elevation style is brilliant Lows The annoying beat thing in the backround. Good addittion to your collection. highly recommended

   • Additional info: This is an upgrade to my previous 3-source matrix. With the addition of Brent P.'s aud version, this makes for an even better sound. I did adjust some levels of all sources, I didn't just take the 3-source matrix and add this in. I took all 4 sources and made the matrix. Some speed correction was needed on Brent's source. He switched MD's about 3/4 the way through Bad, so if you notice a difference in sound, that is why, but not real noticable in my opinion. Again, there is a bit of diginoise on the SBD recording at the very beginning of elevation and ground beneath her feet, but not too annoying. Feel free to do whatever you want for artwork, I've tried and am not very good.
