Performance

Really, really enjoyable. It's difficult to hear at times (addressed below) but it really does strike me as one of the greater European-leg performances. The setlist is very standard (with the exception of Discotheque, depending on whether or not you consider that rare this tour), but the performances are all very well executed and passionate.

Sound

Sounds like you're listening to the show from the concourse around the actual arena at times. Elevation starts off very distant, but the sound quality shapes up, and by Walk On you're pretty much used to it, but in general it's NOT a good sounding show compared to plenty others on the tour. Very boomy, echo-y, and just muddy overall.
Recording: "Sony TD-8 - Squid Mics" - 3 stars

Audience

Also really well represented. They shine through on "Mysterious Ways" and are very receptive and energetic. The poor-ish sound doesn't let them build the show up to something legendary, but it can't always be perfect.

Overall

Can't get past the sound quality to really give this one a great rating, but the performance is grand. I'll be in search of a higher-quality source to replace this one in my collection...worth listening to in my opinion, since it was never a boring show, but you be the judge whether or not you can take 2+ hours of mediocre quality.

Highlights:
-Staring at the Sun snippet
-Mysterious Ways
-The Fly
-Walk On

It was also very eerie and sad to hear Bono dedicate "Kite" to his father (who died very soon after this concert- it was either a matter of days, or just over a week), and to hear him admit to a crowd that he knew he only had a few days left. It makes "Wake Up Dead Man" an eerie tune at the end of the show as well.
