As usual a great performance of the band, they have a lot of fun. Bono's voice was very good.
Unfortenately no surprises, but glad to hear the Electric Co. And first time The Sweetest Thing.
Did not listen yet.
Sound in the Lanxess Arena was not as good as in Amsterdam. Now and then very sharp. Recording: Audience microphone - 4 stars
I was very surprised by the audience, German audience are not known for their participation of a concert. I had seats in block 207, when I looked around nobody was sitting. The atmosphere was great, almost everyone was singing, dancing, shouting.
Altogether better than Amsterdam 2.
After years of big stadiums, I like the indoor concerts very much. Loved the visuals. And after visiting U2 concerts since 1989, they never get boring.

from DIMENEW collection # 246
DPA 4061 -> Roland D-26 (@ WAV 16/44) -> SD -> HD -> WeTransfer -> my HD -> Audacity (edit/volume boost only) -> WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...
Recorded by dear DIMENEW from the floor a few meters from stage center. Fine recording, a bit of claps here and there, a bit of sing-a-long, but nothing really serious. The only really
annoying thing was the low volume in the first part of the show, until the band switched the stages. I did not balance this, so here's the recording with warts and all...
U2...let me remember from some far away "memory folder" in my brain...oh, yes, there were some brilliant albums in the early 80's, a well documented Rockpalast on Loreley (which I enjoyed
watching on the TV so much that I went and bought their vinyls straight after), and some "omnipresence" on radio and TV a few years later, but as my personal music taste had very much
changed then, I did not follow... So it was a nice listening to some known tracks and those from the history of U2 which I did not know. Not really my cigar, but that doesn't matter.
I'm only a bit pissed about the low volume during the "first set", especially on my fave, "Sunday bloody sunday"...Anyway, let's jump into the Lanxess Multipurpose Arena, not a venue where
me would take a step in...SB.

Notes: I had my seat high above in the arena, perfect view. was not centerd with the roof soundsystem,
you can here this, Bono's voice is more into the left channel.
The OKM was attached the same way like Antwerp 2015-10-13 on a railing with rubberbands.
Why rubberband? peoples can bang into the metal there and create unwanted sounds on the recording.
Check my picture for info, you shall understand. Had 1 problem in recording which you wont hear.
Battery did start running low at the end in the outro, i could only check this at home if I had a
complete recording because i was travelling. That's why i pulled the plug earlier than expected.
Anyway, complete recorded for you all.
Have fun listening and turn your room into a concerthall now.

"I hoped this record would change people's perception of the band. This was U2 evolving and really opening up, bringing light and shade and experimentation to the music."
- Larry on The Unforgettable Fire
did you know
British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said in a UK radio interview in 2006 that U2's 1987 hit Where The Streets Have No Name is his favourite song of all time.
