Support act: The Lumineers Comments: Bono dedicates the show to Guus Van Hove and Helena Nuellett, who died in August 2011 while searching for the location of the photograph on the cover of The Joshua Tree. Running to Stand Still is dedicated to Chris Cornell and his whole family, in the wake of his tragic death; the preshow music featured Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun immediately before the song to which U2 take the stage, The Pogues' A Rainy Night in Soho. The Little Things That Give You Away was on the printed setlist after Bad as the last song but the band decided to play I Will Follow instead. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.

sharebear notes: Nothing too crazy on the master. Some slight offset between the left and right channels (it changes a bit throughout the show but seemed to settle at 5 samples). The sound was heavily balanced to the left, so did some spatial rebalance using Ozone Imager and Waves S1 Imager. Low-end was mono'd out to tighten it up, and then some parallel compression at 4:1 ratio for the low end. Few other random tricks, some high-end boost due to some muffled high-end freqs, and export!

Thanks to sharebear for the quick clean up. I was lucky enough to see U2, 5 times on the Joshua Tree Tour in 1987 including both Tempe nights in December. This was worth it just to see them play the album in order. Probably the only chance you might get to see that happen.

"I was very keen on the idea of going wide at a time like that, just seeing how big this thing could get. I had always admired Colonel Parker and Brian Epstein for realising that music could capture the imagination of the whole world."
