Performance

Superb musicianship as usual but what made this a 5 star performance was Bono's vocals. Maybe the week gap from the US leg helped but his voice was really strong and he nailed the high notes all night. The best he has sounded in a while.

Sound

This part is only rated, not commented on

Audience

The place went mental when they came on and generally were really good all night. One of the best reactions I've seen from a U2 crowd and at times the singing was almost louder than the band in places. My seats were at the back so it was a little distracting at times being next to the flow of people going to the bar and back though. A lot of people started to leave at the end of One and there was a steady stream of people leaving during The Little Things That Give You Away which I thought was poor. I don't care how keen people are to beat the traffic I've never understood why anyone would pay up to £100 or more to see a band and not stay right to the end. You wouldn't go to the cinema and miss the last 5 minutes of a film to catch the bus. The same people probably think Rocky Balboa lost on points in Rocky 2 because they left early . Anyway, they all missed out because the band got noel Gallagher back out to play Don't Look Back In anger so it was their loss.

Overall

9th time I've seen them and possibly the best yet, certainly in the top 3. Superb stage show, excellent set and great performances from all of the band.
