Fantastic performance, considering that they are always very nervous for the first Dublin show of the tour, which always gets a lot of attention of the media and historically the Croke shows also raise extra tension and controversy. I liked Bono's story about the first band meeting at Larry's kitchen before Trip through your wires. Bono had very good voice this night.
Sound in my spot was fantastic, but the surfaced recording from Mariobrus is not that good unfortunately. Loud singalongs from nearby audience. There is only so much you can do when you are limited on gear and your seated spot is not great. Recording: "Epic Nights of Rock 'n' Roll" - 3.5 stars
Where I was standing everybody was totally in the show, and I could hear a large portion of the crowd singing along like a choir, on quite a few songs.
U2 in Dublin is always special because of the vibe before, during and after the gig. The planes during WTSHNN were very special. Even though I would love to have ASOH in the set this night, I feel the expectations of some fans were way too high. especially from the people who saw U2 for the first time in Dublin. Maybe it would have been better to send the crowd home with IWF, but I loved to hear the new track Little Things.

"I was very nervous about doing Live Aid, it was such a huge gig. People were queuing up to do it because of the exposure, they were talking about the amount of TV coverage and whatever. It was hard to convince some people that we were there for the right reasons."
