Performance

The band put on a good show and Bono was in good form and always appreciative of the crowd. It's such a thrill to see them run through the whole JT album so beautifully and with feeling. It brings home how good the album and the band still is even after all these years. They had a few flubs - especially Bono losing his concentration and interrupting Pavarotti twice in Miss Sarajevo. Exit, Bad and One were standouts and I actually enjoyed the acoustic The Best Thing. While it was a bit rough and far from a perfect performance, it was quite touching seeing it done this way live, and made me appreciate the song a lot more. And it was nice to see they are not afraid of a bit of change / improvisation/ experimentation.

Audience

The crowd around me in GA was really into it and it seemed like overall a pretty engaged audience but it was not the special kind of night where we would get IWF to end the show. GA was really crowded however and there were more security issues with belligerent people trying to push their way up that I saw at any other show this tour.

Overall

Solid but not spectacular U2 show relative to others. This was my 5th show on the tour - Seattle and Toronto were standouts with Vancouver, New Jersey and San Diego a step behind. I think for the fans who don't see as many shows or follow along obsessively on line it would be a 4.5 but judging against other shows this tour it was not quite as magical as some other nights. But still a great show and always worth the trip to see them. Sad to see my JT tour close but grateful for the opportunity to see this amazing talented band and will never take it for granted.
