Basically everything in the poppy rock genre in the last 20 or so years is influenced by the edge. There's a reason he's one of the more important guitarists of the last 30 years. Kings of Leon, the Killers, Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Foster the People, Broken Bells, Arcade Fire, Foals are the bigger ones I can think of straight off the top of my head where there's plenty of Edge influence all over their sound
Can't say I see Heartland in Wildest Dreams though
Is this thread just a way of trying to make Taylor Swift pass for a guilty pleasure? Joking aside I don’t think there is a u2 influence there, maybe some sounds in the music are similar to sounds u2 have created but that’s just the nature of music, I definitely don’t hear the heartland resemblance. On a side note two of Taylor swifts more recent songs pass as the most cringey I have ever listened to, don’t know if these are the exact song titles but ‘look what you made me do’ and ‘gorgeous’ are so bad lyrically it’s quite funny or at least they were funny the first time, now the radio channel gets changed.
There was a good Rolling Stone article about U2’s influence on country music; seeing as that’s where Taylor started out, plus U2’s obvious influence on pop rock, I wouldn’t be surprised if you find similarities. Taylor isn’t really my thing, but I don’t doubt there’s some influence.
