  3. He probably met Neil and Neil probably told him where his mother was from. Irish people and Irish emigrants often have very strong ties to local communities. Ireland is a small place. Or Bono could have guessed that just because of his surname (Finn).

    Neil Finn posted on Saturday that he met Bono in 1980 and told him that his mother was Irish.

    A snippet is not the same as a full length cover though. Would have loved Edge busting out the electric guitar for this...
