1. hey there i was doing a bit of digging and there are some early u2 songs which i have not come across and was wondering did anyone have a copy of them....they are

    Concentration Cramp
    In your hand
    The Kings new clothes
    Whats going on (not the marvin gaye one)

    If anyone has these give me a shout!
  2. What's Going On isn't a early U2 song as far as I know, it's just some cover of the known one by Bono with Chris Martin.

    Never seen audio surfaced from the other songs though.
  3. Hey Patrick. Here's what I could find for you - only one MP3, sorry.

    I believe I have heard In Your Hand maybe from this bootleg or the hub. I'll take a look for you elsewhere unless someone else comes up with the goods.

    =====================================================================================
    In Your Hand may be an alternate name for Boy/Girl and was performed at the following shows:
    · 1979-08-11 - Dublin, Ireland - Dandelion Car Park
    · 1979-08-21 - Dublin, Ireland - The Baggot Inn

    Lyrics for this song are unknown. However, there is some speculation that this song is actually Boy-Girl, based on the fact Boy-Girl contains the lyric "you can take me in your hand". Below are some opinions on the matter:

    1. It is an original song from U2's early days that is not related to Boy-Girl.
    2. It is an early version of Boy-Girl. The counter-argument to this is that In Your Hand was performed in August 1979, even though Boy-Girl already existed at this time and had been recorded for U2:3, which was released in September 1979.
    3. It is actually Boy-Girl. This opinion puts forth the argument that those who heard the song and reported it did not know Boy-Girl's actual title and mistakenly named it after the line "you can take me in your hand". The counter-argument to this position is that the given line is merely a line from one of Boy-Girl's verses and does not stand out memorably, and a far more likely mistaken name would be "When A Boy Meets A Girl".
    4. It is an alternate title the band themselves used for Boy-Girl. Other early U2 songs have existed under alternate names, most notably the variety of alternate names for The Magic Carpet. Therefore, this stance holds that it is possible Bono himself introduced Boy-Girl by the title In Your Hand.

    This should not be considered to be a complete list of opinions of what In Your Hand might be, but merely a short list of possibilities.

    Early U2 song, may have been an alternate name for Boy-Girl.

    Thanks for the perfect explanation about everything, Drew!

    But now I have an important question: where are the show above available, if they are? I'd love to get all of them, most of all that of Dandelion Car Park. Nevertheless I couldn't find any of them in the U2START's bootlegs collection.
    THANK YOU!

    That's alright. For where you can find them, anything that isn't here I would usually try and get from the u2hub. It's not too hard to use and if you saw the original 'Demos Thread' that I started a month or so, that's where those demos were scored from.

    You know how to use the hub?

    It's also the name of a early song by the Hype (before they became U2) and was only played at this show (not the cover they did on the leg3 of the Elevation Tour):

    I think I don't know how to use the hub, because I gave it a look but I could only go from there to U2torrents. Anyway I just want to know how I can download those early shows which are not available here. Thanks!

    OK, it's not too hard. You need to download a program called CzDC, it is free from http://www.czdc.org/en/download_en.html and register over at u2hub.com - Frank the admin usually takes around 3 days (for me anyway) to validate your hub account.

    This next part is copied directly from the help files.

    =======================================================================================

    Basic Setup
    Here we describe how you add the hub to your client.
    Adding The U2 Hub to DC++

    When you start DC++, it will probably start up showing the screen below. It is a blank screen showing menu-buttons on the top of the screen. In the middle of the screen shot you see nothing yet, since you are not yet connected to the hub. You also see the status of your downloads/uploads.

    =======================================================================================

    Adding the hub to dc++
    Now, lets add the hub to DC++...

    In the menu-bar, a yellow star (which = favorite hubs) is showing click it.

    Next, click on the "New" button: , the following popup-screen should open.

    Fill in the details, I have given an example of how it should be filled in.

    (Note, you can also add the U2Seek hub, in the same way.)

    The username = your hub/website username,
    The Password = your HUB Password!!

    After filling in the details, click the OK button.

    =======================================================================================

    Next, if you filled in all the details as described above!!, including your share of 250MB of U2 Bootlegs, etc etc...
    Iconize Hub to direct connection in starting program.Press the connect button.

    That's it!!!

    Goodluck
