Maybe this is blasphemy, but after listening to the band stumble through "Staring At The Sun" on the opening night of the Popmart Tour in Vegas, I'm wondering if they've had other performances where things haven't sounded right, someone has been off, or things have just all together fallen apart.

I know I've heard a bootleg where Bono sings in the wrong key for almost the entire song. Can't remember exactly, but maybe it was Yahweh. Are there more examples of this? Maybe I'm sick and twisted, but I like hearing them mess up from time to time...

Unfortunately the Joshua Tree tour opening night in Tempe was a real mess for Bono, due to his voice. He apologized several times during the show, but there was nothing he could do. The show should have been postponed....

Vertigo from Chicago 2005-05-07. The first show there. It was really worse.

It sounds like Bono didn't have any breath, he talks his way through the song instead of singing.

There are some 'nice' muck-ups on Youtube..

- Party Girl, where Bono messes with the lyrics and Larry makes a mistake:

- 40, where Bono sings too high...very painful

These aren't bad performances, but it is fun to see..

This is the one I was thinking of. Yeah, it's painful to watch.

Bono struggled big time during the Buenos Aires show last year. Need I mention Sarajevo? Awesome though it was, Bono may as well have the edge sing everything. Cannes was oretty poor too

That's got to be discouraging for fans like us....I know a lot of people on the boards are optimistic about the fifth vertigo leg sounding really good....maybe he needs a few shows to warm up? Let's hope!
