The big concern here is that by picking Biden, Obama was admitting that he didn't have the experience (which is what McCain is trying to convince America of), so he needed Biden to fill that.

yes Mcain has experience, and years of it . he was there when Lincoln was shot .he gave out medicine during the plague. he walked to school ,uphill, both ways, barefoot.but his experience siding with Pres. Bush is experience I'd rather not have around for four more years.the lesser of 2 evils in my opinion is Obama , maybe he hasn't learned all the evil of Washington that Mcain has .

This is my first time in here really. Has Obama's powerful speaking abilities been discussed ad nauseam? Because if not, it should be. He gives me chills. Sooooooooooo much improvement over a few years ago - he must have a great coach!

His coach was actually a radical communist. I wish I was makeing this up, but if someone is friends with an unrepetant terrorist like Ayers, why should anything suprised you?

I forgot his name, but he lived in Hawaii, and takes credit for haveing taught him how to speak. I'll see if I can dig it up. No counters for the Ayers issue I see.

Barack Obama: "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense."

I'm no Obama-apologist, but frankly you could probably make the same exact argument about McCain and his ties to.....George W. Bush.

does anyone remember the Rev Wright thing? Obama cut his ties with him, so my question is: Why doesn't McCain detach himself from Bush?

Because a lot of Republicans would turn on him. Even though Bush has the lowest approval rating since they started keeping track of that sort of thing, he is liked by a large number of Republicans. If McCain turned his back on Bush, many would see it as him turning his back on the party as a whole.
