Right at the moment im mad as hell and i will tell you why! i am a rapidshare premium downloader{i paid for 3 months} and since i heard the announcement both on guitars101 and here that rapidshare are cutting uploaders space to 20gb i decided to download as much as humanly possible to the 1Tb drive i purchased as the links that once were permanently available will no longer be there.........so i started downloading every u2 video and concert i could find both here and on spirals site......and today i got the message from rapidshare that i had reached my downlad limit as i had downloaded 25 gb in 5 days.....but i thought i had purchased unlimited downloading capacity....but so far they havent responded to my email....so much for unlimited......ive paid for 3 months and now i have to use the free service...what a rip off!!!

You're wrong, you can download 5 GB a day, just wait 24 hours and you can download again.

Plus, this is the wrong forum, I'll move it to SIAM.

Edit: just read the Rapidshare website:

You may download 25 GB within five days. This means in other words that you can download 5 GB every day. You can also "burst" and download 15 GB today and 10 GB tomorrow, but this means that you will not be able to download anything the following three days because we check how much you have downloaded in the last five days. 25 GB = 25.000.000.000 Bytes.

Don't worry mate, Rapidshare is good

It's always been like this as far as I know, you just didn't pass the 25 GB in 5 days. Last year it was 4 GB every day so they even improved it a bit.

i actually didnt know that...thanks remy...i wonder how i managed to do it before[also never been charged for going over my broadband download limit] was just annoyed as trying to get a lot of stuff before you click on a link and it goes file not found! as it will happen a lot once you can only have 20 gb uploaded.....at a guess the boy tour is 8-10 gb.....so unless they decide to charge xxl customers an extra charge a lot of great music wont be available!

Please join our list to prevent this being a problem! There's a sticky topic on it in the SIAM forum "List of Downloaders from Rapidshare". We're doing it to hopefully prevent this limit becoming a problem on this site.

Full agreement from me on the deserved congrats too

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but concerning rapidshare,

If you are using the free service, and want to download lots of files quickly, try this ( it did work for me, but I'm not sure if this will work outside HK):

1.Download your file
2. Disconnect from the internet, if you want to be safe, pull out your internet cable
3. reconnect and download again. I don't have to wait for whatever 234235 hours before I can download again.

Drawback: you need a huge capacity to store your files on.........I had to buy a new HD just because i used this "bug" so often.

Try it. Hope this works, because then you can easily dl files that are going to be deleted, and not have to wait for soooooooooo long. AND it's free!!!!

cheers

we've came across this one before and it doesn't always work. A lot of us have fixed IP adresses that don't renew after every disconnect. You are lucky if you can. We have our own methods for combatting the deletion problem.

To get past the waiting:

Go to the bootlegs page and click Download on one of the bootlegs.

Click Free and then paste this at the top in the address bar (removing rapidshare.com/file/xxxx/) javascript:alert(c=0) and then you won't have to wait.
