  1. True thing, but exactly the same can be said of U2/Coldplay, U2/The Killers, U2/The Beatles and more....

Nope. those three bands do not have the same longevity that bruce and u2 have enjoyed. Thematically, they are somewhat similar.
  4. soory, i don't really like Bruce
  5. It's not a Bruce appreciation topic..it's about the overlap.

  6. I love the Boss as well, saw him live about a year and a half ago, absolutely brilliant!

Can someone please post the link for this website? Thanks!

    Those 3 were examples.

And I listened to Bruce and The Beatles, I'm pretty sure myself that U2 sound more Beatles-ish than Springsteen-ish...
Maybe U2's 80's work can be compared with Bruce, but their later work certainly not...

    But there's certainly an overlap...
  8. I agree there is an overlap between the two fanbases but find it a little puzzling because I don't think there is a very large musical overlap between Bruce and U2 as they have completely different styles of songwriting. I would compare Bruce more to a Bob Dylan type of a songwriter than i would compare him to Bono. However Bruce and U2 are two of the biggest and best bands in the world thus they have large followings.

I like Bruce and U2 as well but I don't know if i would compare them at all except for terms of success and fan support. U2/Coldplay is probably a better musical comparison

    Never.
  10. Sure there's an overlap between U2 and Bruce for me.

I absolutely love U2 since the early eighties.

I absolutely hate Springsteen since the early eighties.

    So there's quite an overlap...

Hi members. I'm new here so forgive me if I'm not replying properly.
I just wanted to coment on dmdje3 post. Its cool your passing on your music tastes. And not "pushing" them. Perhaps you could join your son in playing the guitar.
