1. 1) Fist of all..Wave of Sorrow. Great song. I cant believe that it was made in the joshua tree recording sessions (according to the JT deleuxe edition), and I know its probably been remastered but the sound sounds so current.

    2) For a long time now I have been thinking about creating a compilation of u2 studio songs grouping them by mood/sound. I dont know what it is but some of their songs have the same kind of style/sound or unique genre, cant quite figure out what it is. For example Mercy and always can be grouped together as a great pick me up. Hands that built america, october, stay, wave of sorrow, staring at the sun i feel can be grouped together cos of the sound. Even over the many different sounding albums u2 have done, there is still something music sounding that connects over 20+ years of their songs, and I dont mean the different genres such as accoustic or rock or gospel. There's something deeper there. Does anyone agree?

Indeed IT sounds fresh and it fits to nowadays U2's production. Good song IMO, not great, not bad. Good.

I DID it It's a great idea, it doesn't take very much time and the result is very good.
Mine was 3 CDs long, and it was grouped:

CD1 - Rock·rock songs (Vertigo, The Fly, Even Better, Mofo...)
CD2 - Rock but not rock·rock songs, but with feeling (Bad, Red Hill Mining Town, Kite...)
CD3 - Emotional and moving and slow songs (October, Stay, Peace On Earth).

You can play each CD depending on your mood, it's great. In fact, it was 51 (17+15+19) songs, so it's a pretty good U2-compilation.
  3. Agree on that.

Running to Standstill, SYCMIOYO, In A Little While, Miss Sarajevo, October...the same sort of melody, actually.
