I know exactly how good the Ultradisc II's are. Fortunately I have the JT and UF Ultradics.. Brilliant sound. Unfortunately I had many opportunities to buy the War Gold disc and didn't get it. But I have heard it. Anyhow, it will be nice to buy Boy and October again for the 4th time.....

The WAR MFSL disc sound better than the regular CD and two songs are longer. "Seconds" has more of the movie sample bit in the middle, matching the original LP and cassette versions - the regular CD being shortened. And the drum ending of Like A Song also matching the longer cassette and LP originals.

Again, this isn't confirmed yet. The second disc looks promising, though. Remasters of original demos? Awesome.
I've also never heard of "Saturday Night." Wonder if it was a live song played?
are the live tracks not ones previously released on one of the early singles? i like it, but would love to hear good versions of "the dream is over", "Life on a distant planet" and "alone in the light"

The 2 live ones listed here haven't been released commercially on any single. But "Speed of Life" has only been played live--i don't think there was any demo of it, so that one's got to be live as well.
I'm with you there on new versions of "Dream is Over" and "Alone in the Light." Add Trevor, Jack in a Box, Tonight, and Inside Out, and we're looking at a top-notch set of remastered demos.
I cringe to think of hearing even a remastered version of the original Twilight, though. Bono's yelping of "Twilight!" 800 times at the end of the song--ugh.

lol I actually like the early version of Twilight! nowhere near the original but as a demo, it's an interesting piece of unfinished work, Bono's rant at the end just makes me laugh
The diiscs are too short. Boy runs only about 42 minutes. That's a waste of 40 minutes of disc space. The demos are short, they could add them all. Including
Hang Up!
Concentration Cramp
Night Fright
Jack In the Box
The Fool
Magic Carpet
Silver Lining (National Stadium 1980)
Pete the Chop (National Stadium Dublin)
City At Night (Saturday Night???)
In Your Hand
Trevor (National Stadium Dublin 1980)
Dream Is Over
Cartoon World (studio)
Emperor's New Clothes (was it the Boy era???)
and whatever else from that era I dearly hope I don't know about.

-Never heard of Hang Up before--U2gigs.com doesn't have it listed. Where'd you hear of it?
-Night Fright is aka Tonight, which I agree would be great to hear
-I think you're right about Saturday Night being City at Night, which is aka Alone in the Light.
-The King's New Clothes was the early version of The Dream is Over, and as it was only played once that we know of, a cleaned-up version would be great to hear.
