Hey all....Some of you know that I'm a stickler when it comes to people opening up new topics in the forums, so this was a big deal for me to open this one. Let me explain my situation:

On Monday, we had a national holiday here in the US, and I decided to take a surfing lesson at a local beach. Things went really well, although during one of my rides, I felt some minor back pain when I stood up on my board. I thought "oh, that will give me a backache tomorow" and continued surfing for about 45 minutes. After our lesson, I started feeling pain in my legs, so I headed home. On the drive, my legs went numb and we had to go straight to the hospital. I've been at the hospital ever since, and the doctors have diagnosed me with a very rare problem called surfer's myelopathy. As of now, I have no movement or feeling in my lower torso. I can't walk or stand up, and while there's a chance of recovery, there's a chance it could be permanent as well.

Here's where my 2 requests come in....First, I ask if you're religious, you say a prayer for my health. If you're not religious, I'd still appreciate some good thoughs coming my way. Second, if anyone has any uplifting or good songs (U2 or otherwise) for me to listen to during my days sprawled out on my hospital bed, send them my way. (I've tried to listen to Walk On and Streets from Slane, but I end up in a ball of tears.)

Thanks all!
Jeremy

Wow, Jeremy...I'm speechless. I'm incredibly sorry to hear this. You'll definitely be in my prayers. I can't really think of any songs right now, but I'll be sure to try and think of some.

Wow, that's tough...

I will pray for you, for sure. Keep your head up mate, and think about Bob Marley: Don't worry about a thing, because every little thing 's gonna be allright

Take care mate! And please keep us updated if you can!

Jeremy, I am so sorry for you. I can't imagine how frightening it must be to go through such a thing. My prayers are coming at you from the East Coast.

You don't know if it's permanent yet? Keep believing it's not. Faith will help get you through this. I'm praying that you'll be coming home in no time in good health.

Jeremy - I don't know what to say...

I'm thinking of you buddy, as I'm sure everyone is - you're a great guy and an important part of this community, and have been a big part in making me feel part of the gang. You'll be in my thoughts mate, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I really hope you get better.

With regard to suggestions, it may seem an odd one in some respects but I'd say Stuck In A Moment... (any version) as one of those uplifting songs you were talking about, it's always cheered me up when I've been feeling low so I hope it can do the same for you.

Take care m'man, hope you're back to your best as soon as is possible,

EDIT - other ones I just thought of; Ultra-Violet (I'm thinking about the "light my way" bits especially), WGRYWH (you know why I'd suggest this - try Amsterdam III 2005 or THE Stockholm show), In A Little While or All I Want Is You. I'll keep adding to this list!
