Some good choices. For me... in no particular preference but here are a few that come to mind for me... again, just my opinion, others won't agree... and for me it isn't about 'flash' it is about overall guitar playing.

GUITAR:
1.) The Edge (U2)
2.) Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)
3.) David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)
4.) Alex Lifeson (Rush)
5.) Daniel Lanois (solo)

BASS:
1.) Geddy Lee (Rush)
2.) John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)
3.) Les Pattinson (Echo And The Bunnymen)
4.) Les Claypool (Primus / Oysterhead)
5.) Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order)
