if you to the zoo tv section one of last photos say picture of the band playing one. Edge has never played one on the stratocaster as far as I know, and thats what he's playing in the picture. am i just wrong?

when else did Bono play a black guitar on the main stage during ZooTV? I thought it was only during One?

On further viewing though, Bono is wearing his blazer which would suggest that this is after One as he was usually still in The Fy costume at that stage. Looks like WOWY to me

Looks like someone got With Or Without You confused for One perhaps?

Doubt it's WOWY, Edge played that on the '75 LP as far as I can remember - could have been a very early version of WGRYWH, Edge started off with a Strat. and (on the Lakelands version) I seem to remember Bono playing rhythm...although that might just be me.

He used a Strat for it on early legs of the tour didn't he? And the lighting would suggest WOWY, as well as it looks like Edge is doing the sustain note/slight whammy of WOWY. I wonder if it says in the book what concert the photo is from

the picture is from Barcelona 92. Either the 16th or 18th of May.

EDIT : photo description edited so it doesn't matter no longer. WOWY gets my vote though

The picture is of With Or Without You. The guitar that The Edge is playing is a Fender Squier Stratocaster that is cusomized to work with the Brooks Infinite Guitar System.

Edge used that for WOWY on The Joshua Tree tour through the first 2 to 3 legs of the Zoo tours.

As it was a proto-type (Brooks system) and was fragile, there were issues. Edge has said in a few interviews that Dallas got shocked by the thing a few times.

By the later part of the Zoo tours, Edge went to using an E-Bow for the sustain bits on With or Without You.

From Popmart on, Edge has used various Fernandes (brand) guitars with sustainer pickups for the sustain bits in WOWY

I've always thought that pic was WOWY. Edge is in "WOWY" stance, and the mirror balls kind of give it away, no?

EDIT: wouldn't Bono be in Mirrorball gear if that was WOWY? just thought of that

Great photo, whatever song it is.

He is in the Mirrorball suit. The photo is a bit dark but the cut of the pants and jacket seem to suggest "Mirrorball suit". He has removed the hat but often did bwtween Desire and UltraViolet...

And agreed, it is a pretty great photo.
