So I downloaded Popmart Leeds pt 1 and it opened fine. But part 2 I can't open it in order to expand the files. I have a mac and use Stuffit. My computer tells me "An error occurred trying to expand this file. Format error."

Any idea what that means or what I can do to fix it? I tried just tossing it in the trash and re-downloading it but the same thing happened.

Feel free to move this if it's not in the right place.

Hi Zooey.

I have macs as well and tried downloading before on both of my macs. I finally realized the problem: Open part 1's folder. The entire show should be in that folder. Let me know if this doesn't help.

YARG! I was trying to clean up my desktop and threw the little 'box' and the folder in the trash since I'd already put them in itunes and whatnot. I'll try to download it again, maybe, and let you know if it works. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Jeremy, we all knew that. You didn't have to point that out. That's quite kind of you to say that, though!

Okay I'm back. I downloaded all 6 parts of the Dublin 8/28/93 video (ipod ready) and then tried to decode it with StuffIt and it' gets stuck at the end and just says it's working forever and ever. It just "worked" all night and I had to forcequit it this morning.

When I try to open the folder, it shows an mp4 file in there but it won't open. It just does nothing when I tell it to open with itunes. So....???

Try Quicktime, does that work?

nope. It's like the file isn't done expanding, but it's just stuck on the last little bit.

I'll give you the obvious ideas. Is there a Repair option in StuffIt? Give that a go if it exists, otherwise, try another extraction program.

Because it comes in six parts, open the first downloaded file and drag it out and wait ten minutes - the video shouldn't be any bigger than 600-700MB, and then try each one in the same order..some of the bootlegs I've downloaded won't extract from one file but will from others.

I run a Mac too. I've had this occasionally with the big (video) downloads. It will be trying to do what was referenced above by Nate. (ie extract all as one file). For me it's always been because one of the rar files has not fully downloaded. The first 5 should all be the same size with the 6th one being slightly smaller. If THI is not the case then you need to download again I'm afraid.
Has always worked for me, so hope t does for you. And I've converted that Dublin one fine myself.
