Why? Why, oh why? Even Better Than The Real Thing (Fish Out Of Water) is a much better single in my opinion. Blow Your House Down is still rough I think, not single material. It was a nice rarity to hear during the build up to the release but isn't worthy of promoting such an extravagant release.
I actually like Blow Your House Down better. I'd rather be driving and have that come on than Real Thing. I heard that version of Real Thing enough over the summer!
I just read atU2.com's article of "The Evolution of The Fly." Really well done. I'm looking forward to more of these this month.
Haven't any versions of AB yet. Had the 2-CD deluxe edition in my hand at the local Indigo bookstore a couple hours ago. Unfortunately, I had a crying 0ne-year old in my other arm and decided to not stand in line. It was overpriced at $22.99, anyway.
Is it me or does Baby Horses sounds vaguely familer to Winter?
finally got mine today, no idea what i should do with the 16 prints though.

But to be fair, they're not really promoting the re-issue to you are they? I mean, you've probably already bought a copy or are thinking of buying a copy. I think U2 want the 2000-2004 casuals to pick up this album in at least the deluxe format (hence a single from the second disc).
Point is, Bono bangs on about being relevant/radio hits and then releases a track that to me, still sounds rough around the edges. We know full well that radio stations are more likely to play Even Better Than The Real Thing (FooW Mix) than Blow Your House Down. Over here, once stations got wind that Get On Your Boots was not popular, it got scrapped.
Personally, the re-issue of Achtung Baby with all the fancy extras is asking for a more modern re-release of an old single as opposed to an outtake that was rediscovered.

In that respect, you're right. That should have been the single if they really wanted to promote the reissue.
