I personally prefer the original (electric) version. The chorus gives me chills (almost) every time. The acoustic one doesn't affect me in the same way for some reason.

Yeah, the chorus gives you a very liberating feeling, I know exactly what you mean. It's the kind of thing that you want to sing at the top of a mountain or something.
Edit: Also, at 3:35, 11 O' Clock Tick Tock would make a mean snippet.
Heard this song for the first time a couple of days ago, i must say i prefer the linear version above the newer version.
Only one thing that bothers me are the strings at the beginning, could be beautiful, but now they just sound fake (I know it are synthesizers).
But I absolutely love the transitions and the guitar playing
I like the linear version way better, I love Winter, it's in my most played list in Itunes as is the original Mercy, but hey they fucked up that one too (in MY opinion!)
