1. Not to much...just go to an old record store and search. Or go look on ebay, I just need AB ALTYLB and HTDMAB. I have loads on 45s singles too on ebay.

that was the worst in dublin, a specialist cd-vinyl shop .... asking ridiculous prices for the vinyls ....
I walked out .... told some people there about u2start and left the building
(loads of people dont know and will pay 25 euro for a simple bootleg ,.. I did the same once ...) .

I had heard Dublin was the worst place for buying U2 collectibles/vinyl now. I didn't even bother when I was there, mostly because I'd been buying up big in Manchester before I got there. I looked in a couple of places around Temple Bar (because that's where I was staying) and could hardly contain my laughter at the prices they were asking.
  3. I have 2 copies of every vinyl album except Best of 1980 and a few older one. One copy is always opened with the other sealed. My wife bought me a new sony record player a few years ago and thats how i enjoy the sound while working or playing on the computer.

car is always digital... I grew up on Vinyl and will always love it... btw anyone have 7inch pride singles, looking for NZ and PERU versions!

    cheers
  4. hey, I am just curious about it, so I'll ask.
I have got a brazilian Unforgettable Fire vinyl, probably from when it came out in the 80s, do you think it could be reach high prices if I sell it, say, to an european or north american fan?
  5. I bought a few early U2 albums on vinyl at a record store sale a few months back. they were a friggin' steal, £3 each.

    they all play fine, too.

Depends how high you think "high prices" are. Generally, the South American releases do go for substantially higher prices than the US/UK ones, but it's also dependent on condition and rarity. If you run a search of completed auctions on ebay for your record, you should get a good idea of what they've been achieving. There's a very good collectors' mailing list on yahoogroups who may be able to give you more info also: Collect U2

    Thanks!!
  8. I love vinyl but haven't got the new one on vinyl yet. Can't really afford all the different formats at the moment. I hope to get it in the future though. I got Pop on vinyl last year, I love the big fold open sleeve and everything, it looks and sounds great. My last purchase was Wide Awake in America for $8 I think in Toronto.
  9. I only have Viva la Vida on vinyl...haven't heard it yet though since I don't own a record player. Any suggestions?

Music Hall and Pro-ject both make good players for minimal money. There are always good deals on used Rega decks too. The Rega has a loyal following and lots of upgrades if you would want later. I personally have a Basis turn table. Fantastic craftsmanship and killer sound.

Nothing like the warm, lucious sound of vinyl

Thanks! Also, how would one make a vinyl rip?

  12. I think most players have a line-in input so you should be able to hook that up to your computer, play it through and save as a wave or FLAC file.
