I think this track has huge potential. I love your guitar tone, it's freakin' powerful, like distorted ambience. I can hear a chorus where the rhythm picks up, you have a double-time feel, and you get some harmonies in there, and this could be a real winner. Great job, Harry.
Alex, cheers for the thoughts, giving me some ideas! Am thinking of totally changing the context of the lyrics etc., but it's all variable at the mo. - just trying to think of something that matches the haunting, frantic feel. Love the phrase 'distorted ambience' - never thought of it like that before but suits the tone to a tee.
Here somethinh I got started on today. A bit excited by it.
That lead tone is three pedals combined, one of them a new chorus. Haven't gotten the pedal I told you I'd get loads of experimental stuff out of yet though. I probably will some time though.
I thought I got a pretty cool guitar sound here though.
"Speak of the Devil"
----
You've got my wrapped around your finger
Harder to unwind when you know its true
It's never been your thing to linger
So used to catching up with you
Just when I had you in my rearview
Just when I caught you saving face
You make me beg more than I ought to
You're not so easy to replace
(Chorus)
Every time I chase you outta' my head
Here you come, run right back again
When my heart
Finds my head
When my days
Find their ends
When I chase you out,
You run right back again
Again
The next time you slip through the breaks
Of the pavement that I've come to know
I don't much care all that it takes
I'll leave you falling down below
(Chorus)
It's a long way back to the beginning
But I'd do anything to meet you there
I'll say your name, if you stop pretending
I'll waste my whole damn life
Continuing to care
Hello to shadow, who prefers it's own will
And your reflection displays a stranger with ill
Treacherous instincts, that arrive by surprise
Causing you to feel unidentified
Don't look down
On what you have
I'm telling you now
To go out, and shout to the world
Find me tomorrow
When I'm defined by more than man
Find me tomorrow
Cause today I don't know who I am
It's the opposite of, superficiality
Concentrating, on individuality
You need to exit, and find that face you had before
So look inside and don't ignore
What you know
You already have
I'm telling you now
To go out, and shout to the world
Find me...(chorus)
Would you spend a wish (on me, me)
Provide me with the means (to be, me)
Cause' when I see myself (I don't know, I don't know)
They tell me to be myself (But I don't know, I don't know)
So help me say
Find me...(chorus/outro)
Here's my new tune which is a collaboration between me in the U.K and Brooke Mitchell in the U.S. We only communicated via email and i'm well pleased with the result. Hope you like it
