  2. Haha, congrats Joe (Hopefully Sergio won't be mad that you're stealing his thunder JUST KIDDING! )

Looks like a grand stadium, though not very tall. This is one of those stadiums that would make for a fantastic panoramic picture!
  3. As noted above, very much the home of rugby league in Queensland. Formerly known as Lang Park. There is a statue just outside the venue of 'the King' Wally Lewis - also known as 'The Emperor of Lang Park' for his football heroics in the 1980's. Seats 52,500 after a major redevelopment in 2003. It's a very good venue for watching sport, in my opinion. Seats are very close to the action. The roof would be a little low compared to Etihad so it would be interesting to see how far the top of the Claw will pop out of the stadium.

U2 have never played here, choosing to hold their outdoor Brisbane shows (Vertigo, Popmart, ZooTV) at Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, formerly known as ANZ Stadium. Suncorp Stadium is the better choice this time around with a much better public transport network around it and walkways going in all directions from the stadium for faster pedestrian flow. Only about a 15-minute walk to CBD.

  4. As previously mentioned its a very 'intimate' stadium. Seats 52,000 but the pitch/ground itself is pretty small compared to most other stadiums. Can't wait to see the setup being built and looking forward to my aerial/'big picture' view on the 8th and then the general standing view on 9th.

Any updates on if the 2nd concert is selling out? I heard there are heaps left.
  5. How good is the sound gonna be there? I'm thinking because of the shape - and how narrow it is, should give great sound.

I don't think the second show sold out.

Never been to a show there. There haven't been many, but must be better than the old ANZ Stadium. Tix still selling I believe.
  7. Hi - I went to the Robbie Williams and Police concerts here - very loud even from seats way back in the stands. The story goes that when they built it there was a priority on keeping sound in to keep the local residents happy. The sound was a lot louder for Robbie Williams in 2006 comapred with U2 at QSAC a few weeks before even though I was a lot closer to the action at U2.

The stadium is regarded by some as the best viewing major stadium for rugby in the world so it should be as good as it gets sight wise for anyone in the stands.

  8. This is probably a bit old, searching for more..

Edit: Got a newer one, 2 minutes..
  9. Here we go, from about 18 hours ago from @silhutch on twitter

  10. Good news to all the people lining up... Outside the stadium on a large area of grass the are marquees built with long rows of metal lines. I think that at least one stadium has finally got it right for queing!
