Yea true. I was thinking of Vertigo with that in- and outdoor stage.
About the DVDs..
Rose Bowl is beautiful, amazing quality, but in some way it doesn't hit me like Boston Elevation and Chicaco Vertigo, because those are indoor.
It feels like your closer to the band members in those DVDs!
If they do film(digitize?) another concert they had better not use the same company or anyone related to the people who produced the Rose Bowl disc.
Here, I was thinking that FINALLY I was going to be able to see a blu-ray of U2 in crystal clear sharp HD resolution. Instead of got a horribly filmed concert that for god only knows why that in the post production they added a TON of noise/grain to the look, making it look like it was shot in the '70s. On top of that, the selective over-saturation and darkening of the crowd just pissed me off as well. I haven't compared them side-by-side, but I highly doubt the blu ray looked all that much better than the DVD.
If I was going to try to show off what a blu ray was capable of, this would be the absolute dead last disc i would want to show anybody.
While watching all the extras on the disc I kept thinking to myself "THIS is how it should have looked, it's sooo much crisper and clearer!" I've really only watched it a few times when it came out, mostly due to the fact that the whole post production work just ruined it.
"Should U2 release another 360 DVD?" Yes.
But I don't know if it's financially attractive enough to do so...
Btw, I like the idea for a DVD of the Glasto-concert
