1. I was wondering if any of you have purchased and listened to NLOTH on vinyl?

While I am a huge vinyl fan I have yet to find a good sounding copy of JTree and the Singles double LP is very muddy sounding. I was hoping they did a better job with NLOTH, but am sort of gun shy to buy it. I'm happy with the CD, but woud like to find some solid U2 vinly for critical listening.

I got it, have heard it around three times. Can't tell the difference between it and the cd, but it has a bit more bass.
    The packaging is pretty good

My favorite u2 vinyl is probably UABRS, sounds nice.
  3. I have NLOTH on vinyl but I've never played it because I've left it sealed. Their early stuff sounds awesome on vinyl though.

  4. the NLOTH vinyl wont play anyway. its full of scratches from what I've heard.

  5. ??? how can a brand new vinyl be scratched??
  6. I bought it on vinyl, but haven't played it yet, since I no longer have a player
I have the earlier albums, Boy, October, Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum on vinyl, bought in those eras, as well as a bunch of vinyl singles. Nice to have
  7. how much would it cost me in us dollars to buy every u2 album in vinyl?

That's right! You'd better hold on thight to those.
  10. mm I was one of the ones who mentioned the scratches on the nloth album .... when it came out ... it turns out it is damage done when the record gets flipped into its baggie ... its not audible except for a small part in the beginning of the record, there it does sound very noisy wen the damaged part hits the needle ... i was intrigued by this damage, as the record gets pressed at record industry in haarlem, holland .., I actually get records pressed at the same plant, being a dance musician ...

I found it appaliling that this damage was present !, especially as it was a new remaster .....
also found it strange that they did do the JT on two vinyls, but did not make use of all the space .... they simply put two or three songs a side and left loads of vinyl unused ... one would think they would press on 45 rpm and use all space possible ... but no ..

I have been listening to the TUF remaster vinyl record about 20 times in the past week .... sounds very good, but I havent, and wont sit down to compare with the cd's etc ...

I also have all other albums on vinyl, including a shitload of singles ....
and one or two bootlegs on vinyl, but I have stopped straight away to get these .... unless they are 5 euro finds at flea markets as opposed to 40 euro so called collector items ...

that was the worst in dublin, a specialist cd-vinyl shop .... asking ridiculous prices for the vinyls ....
I walked out .... told some people there about u2start and left the building
(loads of people dont know and will pay 25 euro for a simple bootleg ,.. I did the same once ...) .
  11. and I will actually wait untill I find the remasters of WAR BOY and October for some cheaper prices ...
paid 22 euro for TUF and the others are the same .... it depends on the moment in time that I walk into them I guess .... if I happen to have worked loads ... and cash is crwaling out of my wallet .... I will take the vinyls home ....
