1. Every month we put a U2 fan in the spotlight. The fan of the month for December 2016 is user bazzzz. Read along for the interview we had with this U2 fan.

    "I have a collection of 7200 vinyls, 4500 CD, 1000 cassettes, and about 30000 files in mp3"

Tell us something about yourself, who are you and what do you do for a living?
I am a 56 years old Italian man living in Rimini on the Adriatic Coast south of Venice. I graduated in foreign languages in Bologna. I own an advertising agency for incoming tourism. My clients are hotels.
I am married and I have two sons: Maddalena (age 24) and Edoardo (age 21).

How did you become a fan of U2, tell us how it happened?
During a holiday in Spain in the 80's, listening to Boy, War, October,TUF full volume in my car with a girlfriend.

Tell us more about your U2 live experiences. Any special anecdotes you want to share
Wel, myl first concert was at Flaminio Stadium in Rome on 1987 for the Joshua Tree Tour. I shook hands with Dallas Schoo in Milan 1992. I was invited for 2 transmissions in rai radio about u2 (national broadcast) and many, many concerts. About 25 concerts for u2 and about 500 for other groups. I have a collection of 7200 vinyls, 4500 CD, 1000 cassettes, and about 30000 files in mp3 and mpeg4 in 8 hard disks of 1 TB.

You have a very impressive music collection. How did that start and what can we find in there?
I was the owner of two private radio stations for 20 years. My first album in 1972 was Made in Japan from Deep Purple and……..I've been buying records and concert tickets for more than 40 years. Since 2008 I have a blog too: http://www.buzzandmusic.com/

Speaking of collections, what does your U2 collection look like? What kind of stuff do you have and how is it organized?
I have all the U2 records in vinyl and cd formats and many, many boxsets in deluxe editions. I am a u2.com subscriber, so I have all the subscription gifts. Also, I have a lot of memorabilia like tickets, shirts, posters and much more.

U2 always had a special connection with Italy. What is so special with Italians that makes U2 feel at home?
Oh well, I think it's because they are Irish and because they have always played unforgettable concerts in Italy. There is also their friendship with Pavarotti. They love Italian fashion, food and wine.

What are your expectations for Songs of Experience? Do you think it will be their last album?
I hope not, but possibly. I think it will be a very rock album, a unique album with new sound effects and influences from their past career.

If there would be only one U2 song you could hear the rest of your life, which one would it be?
    STREETS!

How different is U2 compared to other artists that you like?
U2 are different from all the groups I love. Their sound has always something unusual, Bono's lyrics are very, very emotional for me. Everything is different.

What are your hobbies and interests away from U2, musical or otherwise?
I have a fantastic dog: a boxer called Ares. He is 6 years old. I love Mac and all of Apple's devices. Also, Juventus football team. I've written a book and some verses. I like good food and red wine, motorbike, films on streaming, travels.
Music of course hahahahaha, it’s my life (talk talk).
