“If it was me, we would be playing it now,” Bono answered. “It is pretty much done. It is a pretty special piece of work. I think it might have benefited from the pause that we took. “
    Has it been rewritten?

“Things have changed on it, yeah,” Bono said. “It had to happen. Because our songs are stories, breaking news as well as anything else; what is going on in our own lives, what’s going on in the world — U2 always came out of that. And the whole world changed . We didn’t want to be like Y2K! Then fuck ! Nothing happened!” Bono laughed.

  2. The Little Things is a beautiful song, if SoE has All My Life on it too then it's shaping up to be a cracker.
  3. Hell yes. I've loved that song ever since hearing that shitty quality beach clip. It has hit written all over it, yet they went with Window In The Skies instead and seemingly forgot All My Life since.

Yep big fan of that one too, and that song 'Thank You'. For me they both kind of have a SoA feeling as far as the titles go and the vibe to them.

I reckon SoE will probably be modern sounding songs (Best Thing for example) and will be about where U2 are at this point in their lives and the world as they see it (i.e. last couple of years) and SoA will be more of an album of classic timeless and maybe deeply spiritual songs.

That said its quite possible that both songs have morphed into completely new songs and exist under new titles.

You still think they are doing SOA?
  6. Saw that article today. If they don't release it this year and move into 2018 with still no album it will be beyond a joke. How can you tell the world for sure that you will release an album in 2015, then do the same for 2017 only to say it "maybe" will be out in 2018.

I know there is no official word yet, but just saying that makes me laugh, and not in a good way!

I know, it does get really really annoying at times
  8. Yeah, I believe it will come.

There's clearly a bunch of songs that have been earmarked as being suitable for the concept of SoA (whatever that actually might be) - Bono refers to SoA and songs on it very very vaguely in those interview clips about the Psalms from mid-2015 that surfaced recently.

Plus U2 albums kind of go in trilogies, I'm sure they never set out for that to happen but it's kind of been like that when you look back. SoA would wrap up that trilogy.

That said who knows. I never saw the TJT 2017 coming, so anything is possible, but if I were a betting man, I would wager SOA is in the pipeline in the next 3 to 5 years.
  9. I'm dying for SOE to come out. I really am. I need a new album.
  10. I need North Star and Boy Falls From The Sky on SOE, please Larry
