Performance:
When you have so many U2 shows available it is sometimes difficult to pick a random one. When I started listening to this show I had to go on. To rate the performance of a band from an audio recording you should hear more than just the music. Which I absolutely do, I hear the spirit, the enthousiasm, very good performance. Some songs obviously better than others, but in general a great performance of the band. The encore is outstanding.

Special note to Larry for performing Wild Rover, always one for a good laugh. A show that definitely resembles the Outside Broadcast leg.

Audience:
It's difficult to rate the audience here, when I think of the audience I think of one song: Streets. You feel like you're almost there if you listen to it.

Sound quality:
The audio quality is amazing, it is a great mix of vocals, instruments and crowd. Especially for this era the quality is very good. One of the bootlegs I would definitely recommend to others as a ZooTV Outside Broadcast introduction.

Overall:
A solid 4 star rating for this bootleg and show. It gets better during the show, the show itself is good but the encore is outstanding. One of the downsides for me was Bad, which is not one of very best Bad performances. I'm still in the opinion that Bad doesn't belong on ZooTV, opposed to just a few great performances (Dublin RDS for instance).

Also a special mention for the snippets, I am a snippet lover and I was caried away by Stand By Me & Dancing Queen. Don't know if you should name them snippets in such a rendition but it really adds to the performance.

Performance:
(Although they aren’t listed on the setlist, the bootleg also includes 11 O’Clock Tick Tock and I Will Follow, both certainly from the same show).

I have this labeled in its folder as the “Indoor, Incomplete Red Rocks.” A month before the legendary show, the band channels all of the energy and passion they would later showcase on that rainy outdoor stage here now in what I imagined to be a very cramped night at the Orpheum in Boston. Brilliant energy, barelling performances, enhanced and driven by all four members of the band, but Edge in particular. If you’re looking for a bootleg dominated by him and his sounds, this is it. His guitar is up front and loud on every song, but it comes across particularly strong on 11 O’Clock Tick Tock and Electric Co. I would have loved to have heard War staples like Surrender and New Year’s Day with that dominating guitar sound. The shorter setlist itself is the only thing this bootleg is lacking, in any category. Everything here was virtually packed up as it was and replicated (save for the rain and the extended setlist) exactly one month later.

Audience:
Fantastic, with or without the sound quality. You’ll have to turn down your volume after Out of Control gets started.

Sound quality:
The radio broadcast obviously contributes to and enhances everything about this bootleg, but it also really makes this an “Edge” bootleg. His guitar is much more prominent here than on other radio broadcasts – it doesn’t have that echo-y stadium sound, like on the Popmart Leeds or 360 Sheffield boots, but rather just a pure, clear sound. I haven’t listened to 11 O’Clock Tick Tock the same way again.

The show the following night in Boston had the more complete setlist, and the bootleg for it has almost as good as sound as this one, but the combo of the phemonenal performance and sound quality of this one far outshines it. And if you don’t have the Red Rocks audio and can’t get it anywhere, this is the next best thing (well, with a half-setlist). Get it now!

Performance:
Pretty good to be honest. Faultless 'Even Better Than The Real Thing'. Nice solo in 'Mysterious Ways', one I've not heard before. Solid of 'One'. Good versions of 'Tryin To Throw' and 'Wild Horses'. Very nice 'Wild Horses' in fact. Edge, Larry, Adam and Bono are all having a great night. No major criticisms of the music.

My only problem, the setlist is too short, apparently because Bono's voice is not holding up well, but he certainly hit the high notes at the start of the show. There is no noticeable detereoration in his voice. But we get no Desire and after With Or Without You, he kicks the microphone stand into the crowd and walks off. So no 'Love Is Blindness' either. He does apologise.

However, still a good show, well worth hearing.

Audience:
Present throughout the show, participate when the oppurtunity arises. The show sold out in a Civic Center record 40 minutes and with there being just under 16,500 there, they do a good job.

Sound quality:
Very listenable.

Overall:
Good show. Shame some songs are left out. Highlights include:

- No nonsense setlist

Performance:
This show is absolutely brilliant! Great band energy! I don't think I've ever heard such a tight execution of the rhythm section as this one. Adam and Larry are impeccable throughout! I believe Bono's voice is at the peak of his power and range while his crowd interactions and anecdotes really get the everyone going. Edge is flawless! I loved the bleed through of his Hendrix at Woodstock inspired Star Spangled Banner into Bullet. All along the Watchtower is hair raising.

Audience:
What can I say...they are completely into it. Watching an epic performance by an epic band has them on their feet! Listen to the frenzy in the opening moments of the show. It's quite the hometown welcome! You've got to love the crowd spontaneously breaking into '40' before the band even starts the song.

Sound quality:
This is the best sounding boot I've ever heard by U2 or any band. The radio broadcast struck a perfect balance of band and audience. It's as close as you can feel to being at the original performance.

Overall:
This show is why I listen to live music. There are so many highlights, but I thought Running to Stand Still, Streets, and Bad were fabulous. Loved all the snippets: Time they are a changin', Exodus, All I want. If I had to critique anything it would be the setlist. I personally would have preferred a bit more Joshua Tree/Unforgettable Fire to Rattle & Hum numbers. Having said that U2 and BB nail When Love Comes to Town.

Performance:
A band over the wall run without chains around the unknown persons.

Audience:
Like a train needs rain.

Sound quality:
An angry voice will cry in a pagan place.

Overall:
thank you too for the fire.
Highlights: Magnificent, Vertigo, The Unforgettable Fire, the beginning of Beautiful Day.

Performance:
Bono is slightly off key at start of GOYB and Clayton makes a couple of note mistakes. But no big deal. A passionate vocal that kicks in 1/2 way thru and makes it an awesome performance, one of Bono's GOYB best.

Breathe is excellent vocal.

Audience:
This part is only rated, not commented on.

Sound quality:
Sound quality absolutely amazing. Can feel every electric Edge vibration and crash of Mullen, jr. GOYB and Breathe instrumental is hair-raising electricity!

Performance:
Great performance of the band during the Unforgettable Fire tour. I think Bono was in good shape though the rest of the band made a few mistakes, which I actually like in concerts. It takes away the 'usual show' label, I love it when something happens like Edge's guitar mistake in Amsterdam in 2005 or the tear gas incident in Paris in 1987.

The first mistake was messing up the intro of Bad (Edge got guitar trouble), which Bono greatly dealt with by improvising a little and then singing a bit of 'Time is on my side'. One of the reason Bad is my favorite U2 song is all the snippets Bono sings during this song, I love it. After a few seconds Edge's guitar was ready again and the band finished the song perfectly. So Bad features a great long guitar intro with a great snippet.

The second 'mistake' (sounds like one) was the intro of Gloria, which is longer than usual, probably because of some technical problem too. Gloria was the song of this show I started listening with high expectations, if I believe my co-crewlid Gerard Gloria is the reason this concert is great. And he is right, Gloria is great and for fans: it lasts more than six minutes!

Overall the band delivered a great performance in Scotland, better than average.

Audience:
The crowd was great this show, even though the loud clapping you can hear a few times is a little out of time. If you love crowd noise during a bootleg you should hear to the end of Pride, they sing this song for U2. Also the intro of Gloria features great participation of the crowd, as well as the usual crowd participation in '40'.

Sound quality:
This concert deserves it's 4-stars, it's a great audience recording. You can hear the instruments very good and Bono's voice is clear too. Also the audience noise is not too loud but just good for an audience bootleg.

Overall:
Great show, with highlights featuring Bad, Gloria and Bono's amazing voice. The best example of Bono's great voice is during The Electric Co. where he sings the Amazing Grace snippet. It's Bono at his best, I had to playback the song to hear it again.

Performance:

+ All the Discotheque snippets, the more, the better!
+ With Or Without You, awesome, great interaction with the crowd

Crowd, from what I could hear (not much) was decent, I love the crowd after All I Want Is You. They kept on going with "a hee ooh ooh".

Sound quality:
First of all, the recording which is not my favorite. It sounds very distant, and you can't really hear the thousands of people in the crowd. Which is a shame, this is not a bootleg that can represent such a historic show.

Overall:
