Bono to participate in Naomi Judd Tribute

Original Story by Aaron J Sams (2022-05-13)

Bono will participate in a tribute to Naomi Judd on Sunday. The memorial, Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration will air at 6pm ET on CMT on May 15. (A second airing will happen at 10pm the same day).

The tribute, hosted by Robin Roberts will include performances by Brandi Carlile, Emmylou Harris, Little Big Town, The Gaithers, Ashley McBryde and Allison Russell.

Bono is not listed as one of the musical performers but has been listed among others who will give tributes through the special. Bono will provide a tribute as will Morgan Freeman, Salma Hayek, Martina McBride and Oprah Winfrey. Both of Naomi’s daughters, Ashley and Wynonna will also take part in the tributes. The special will air live from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, but it is not known if all appearing in the broadcast will be in attendance. The special will air commercial free.

It is not known at this time what form Bono’s tribute will be in, or what time it will air during the celebration. During a private memorial ceremony, held May 7, Bono recited a poem by video.

Judd’s daughter has been a long time friend of Bono’s and regularly appeared with Bono during his “Heart of America“ tour in 2002.
