First night of Elevation, first time some songs have been aired, and things go swimmingly! Good performance, although Bono's voice hasn't warmed up yet!
Considering it said 5 Stars on the link I was really surprised with this one. It sounds much more like an IEM than an audience recording. The balance between voice/instruments and between band/audience isn't quite right. And it's very annoying that each song fades in and fades out.
Couldn't really hear them very well. May have been the recording though.
I love the Elevation Tour, and this is a good show.
-The run from Sweetest Thing to Ground Beneath is a lovely section of the show. Especially good version of In A Little While.
-Bad - great performance.
-The Fly, yes there were a couple of mistakes, but I still think it sounds fresh and great.
-Annoying fade in/fade out of each song.

This Pre-Rehearsal has the band warming up for the opening show of the Elevation Tour
(in just 3 days, March 24, 2001). Most songs have no vocals or they are distant or in the background.
This is completely different from the "Rehearsal Show" boot from March 22, 2001.
It is rumored that the taper of this show (and I assume the March 22, 2001 Rehearsal Show)
has taped up to 5 of these soundchecks and rehearsals,
leading up to the first show.
It would be great to get this circulating, and spread among the fans.

I purchased this on ebay 4 years ago; before I discovered the legal way of doing things.
As for quality, I would rate this a "7" or "very good" audience recording. I have
included the cover art which consists of scans of the original outer sleeve, both discs,
jewel-case style front and back, as well as scans of the inside cores to prove these
were manufactured by the Iguana record label. Just another source of the show that I
wanted to make sure gets in the hands of the most deserving fans out there! Enjoy!

"I wrote the lyric based on the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament. It’s a story of intellectual wanderlust. The preacher wants to find out the meaning of life and so he tries a bit of everything. He tries knowledge, educates himself, reads every book, but that doesn’t do it. He tries travel, sees every sight, but that doesn’t do it. He tries win, woman and song, that doesn’t do it. All he says, is vanity, vanity of vanities, striving after wind."
- Bono on The Wanderer

U2 only started to make money after the Joshua Tree in 1987, they were already more than 10 years playing as a band then.
