setlist

Performance notes: Out Of Control is performed for the first time in over eleven years. 11 O'clock Tick Tock makes its Elevation Tour debut after appearing at a couple of small pre-tour promotional gigs (even though Bono claimed that they hadn't played it in 20 years), and gets off to a false start when Edge has guitar problems and has to get a new guitar from his technician before the song can proceed. Interestingly, the last time these two songs were played at a full tour concert (10 January 1990, Rotterdam), they were also played consecutively.

Performance

Depends on how you look at it. The performance is loose, Bono sings great on most songs but he sounds weak on a few, but it is the Elevation tour so his voice wasn't the strongest throughout the tour. He also forgets/changes quite a bit of the lyrics for a few songs, but Bono's been known to do that, so I have no problems there. It's just funny hearing the audience singing the right ones and going "whaa?" when Bono doesn't.
The band are great, few mistakes here and there (the beginning of 11 o' clock tick tock had me chuckling) but that keeps them human, and it makes the show more unique and fun to listen to. U2 aren't on autopilot here.

Sound

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 is because I've heard better, but this one is still very very good. Bono and Edge sound a little bit low in the mix sometimes, but not enough to be bothersome.

Audience

Great audience, very responsive, you can hear them predicting what songs come next, cheering like mad when U2 breaks into a rarity. All around a great audience, not too loud and not too quiet.

Overall

This is probably the best elevation show I've listened to. The audience is great, the performance is great, the setlist is exceptional to the point where I'd say it's the best of the elevation tour. The inclusion of Discotheque/Staring at the Sun is amazing. I love this version of those two songs, it rocks the house like crazy. Also 11 o' clock tick tock and out of control are great back to back, a little time machine into the past. After that it becomes the standard elevation setlist. The fly is performed greatly, as are other hits like Pride, Streets, One. Overall the show is great and I'd highly recommend listening to it for anyone who's going through an elevation phase, or even if you're not it's a great fun show to check out.
