Performance

A respectable, no nonsense effort from the boys in what was smack-bang right in the middle of the Aussie-NZ tour. The boys seemed rejuvenated for the most part which was characteristic of this leg after a long lay-off. I felt the band weren't in great form. There were few stand-outs. Bono in particular committed a few lyrical faux pas's (in Angel "Snow is melting on the sound" ?) and the band really threw themselves at the start before putting in a rather lacklustre second half of the main set. But overall, I felt their performance was enough to at least warrant a pass mark.

I really have grown very tired of Elevation on tour but this was one of the best versions I've heard during Vertigo. It was really pumping as was I Will Follow. As I think I've said before in this forum, I've really grown to love Beautiful Day on this tour. It just sounded a lot more interesting than it did on Elevation with the great snippets - in this instance Sgt Peppers and Here Comes the Sun - and the looonnng "Touch me!".

Things picked up in a big way during what was for me the highlight of the show - a very impressive Stuck in a Moment followed by a fun-loving Angel of Harlem. This combo was just great. I'm not a massive fan of either song but they both hit the spot for me.

I felt that this show was on it's way to something out of the ordinary before the shit stain Sometimes came along and fucked everything up and kicked off what were in my opinion pretty average War and Human Rights sets. I suppose Streets wasn't bad and Bono's humour during Sunday with the kid was ok.

A solid encore with highlights Zoo Station, Desire and Kite redeemed the lads though.

Sound

It's a typical 3-star bootleg. Bono's the most clear and the other band members sound like they're performing in a stadium next door. What's more, you get this background fuzz like it's raining throughout the recording but most audible on the softer songs like Miss Sarajevo. It's not as good as Sydney or Melbourne but better than Brisbane.
Recording: Audience microphone - 3 stars

Audience

They were there and made some noise.

Overall

I reckon the sound takes a way most of the points of this bootleg. It just sounds like its changed hands a few too many times so I'd love to get my hands on the source.

Highlights:
Definitely Stuck In A Moment and Angel early on

Kite was a great feature of the Aussie tour and didn't disappoint here.

....oh and Elevation too I guess.

Final word: Get Sydney and Melbourne before considering getting this one. But if you're an avid collector of good Stuck in a Moments you could do worse than this one.
