Notes: this is a mono pull of the crew soundcheck (various channels) and Bono's IEM feed...the soundcheck really doesn't have much to offer but a lot of channel scanning (just to show you what a grind this can be), guitar riffs, and I nice story about a 300 pound girl with big boobs :) apparently the crew were joking out one of the guys for hooking up with a big girl in NY.

The show was great and it was a great experience to record the IEM....I learned a lot and this is proof that it ain't easy! The feed came in with litterally thousands of static type burst from what I think was caused by cell phone interference as I was in the middle of the field about mid way back (I wanted to get a good audience pull too)....next time I will go for the clean IEM feed instead...as I said, learning experience. I have included the unedited feed and my full remaster of the feed....It took about a month to clean up the sound to where it was even usable for a matrix (this remaster was not used in the matrix, it's much better now)....once I removed the bursts as much as I could, then I went back and played with the sound...I think it turned out pretty nice consisering...very listenable and one of the most enjoyable shows I attended on the 360 Tour....if you are looking for a super clean, stero sound, go download one of Sharebears wireless mixes or a Nuno source....just adjust the bass up a tad on your radio dial and go...

and BY ALL MEANS, if you can take the unedited files and make them sound better, PLEASE DO!

Performance

Really great to find this site--and this show, since I was there. My second show on the 360 Tour and 13th overall...I thought the band was in really good form this particular evening, especially considering the heat.

Sound

For an audience recording, it's great...especially with headphones on an iPod.

Audience

No problems at all with the recording. I was standing back near the soundboard--apparently near the person who recorded this--and I thought that at times the audience seemed a little lethargic. However, there's some good participation, and a deifnite spike in interest heading to AIWIY. I was floored when The Wanderer started coming out of Bono's mouth, but as I glanced around very few people seemed to realize the significance of the moment. On the recording, though, it sounds like there's some buzz, so maybe I was in a bad spot.

Overall

No real lowlights, although I agree with the earlier post that Crazy is not a highlight in its present form. I don't mind Boots as much. The Wanderer...amazing. AIWIY...beyond amazing. And that opinion was formed before all the post-concert coverage. Aside from my first show, it looks like Lucky 13 might be the best one I've seen!
