Performance

New songs have all come off well now that the band are now about 20 shows in. For the first time in my 25 years of seeing the band live, they lost me a couple times during the show. For the longest time, my expectation was "what will Edge's solo during Bullet sound like THIS tour?" I was so disappointed that there wasn't one., and then Bono's American rant (usually well put together) was just incomprehensible shouting by the end.

The other larger issue was with flow. One of the things i always loved about the band was interaction with the crowd. Bringing the dancer AND the cover band onstage, although awesome, felt very contrived and set up. It also seemed that Bono talked far more than normal and really took the wind out of the sails at the wrong time. Again, i'm all for crowd interaction, but jeez man... timing.

Audience

The audience in my area was good. I still saw several empty seats in the lower bowl and massive space in the GA, which makes me wish I'd bought those instead. Engagement was hit and miss until Pride and then carried string the rest of the way.

Overall

Overall, I fear this show will be lost from my mind pretty quick. Still miles better than most bands, but as a U2 show it's average at best.
