Performance

Having been to the London 1 the night before I wasn't expecting the band to better their performance. How wrong was I, this was a quite incredible performance from U2 on this warm Summers evening. Bono's voice was just as strong on this night as it was on London 1. They seemed more relaxed and at ease during this show, smiling and engaging with the crowd a lot compared to the previous night. I could not hear A single mistake made by any of the band, a great performance. Bono went off script a couple of times and I believe we got the first snippet during Trip Through Your Wires this tour, the snippet was "Love Me Do"

Sound

Delighted to finally have my first taped show too. Whilst it's only a matter of time until a much better source is made available, I think my recording captures the energy of the crowd along with a decent mix from the band too. It's very muddy in places as to be expected from a mixlr stream but it's still very listenable. There wasn't too many sources for U2's second Twickenham Stadium show back in 2005 on the Vertigo Tour. I hope we see plenty more sources this time around. I hope you enjoy my energy and recording
Recording: "iPhone 7" - 2 stars

Audience

The previous night I prioritised a good B Stage position and the audience participation wavered throughout. London 2 I prioritised a good main stage position. I was 4 rows back from the front directly in line with Bono's microphone stand. Whilst the sound quality was not as good as London 1 the audience participation and energy more than made up for it. This makes me truly believe the best place to be for a U2 show is close to the front by the main stage. Never have I experienced a buzz and a atmosphere like it before. Right from the get go myself and everyone around me was bouncing for the high energy songs and singing as loud as possible for the ballads / mellow (ish) songs. i'm a believer that the band will feed from this, and that's exactly what they did on Sunday. I was a bit apprehensive knowing that Elevation was coming up but that soon diminished when it kicked in. EVERYONE on the floor was bouncing and singing along. The other big two "Beautiful Day" and "Vertigo" were equally impressive. We was all drenched in sweat by the time One came. Audience was incredible, I will never forget it in my lifetime

Overall

Where do I start with London 2. Simply put this was the greatest live experience I have ever had, and trust me I have seen plenty of live shows from a range of different musical genres. Never have I been to anything as big as a sold out Twickenham Stadium show. It was a box to tick off seeing U2 live, and I managed to see them twice in one weekend. U2 could have played a four hour set and still the energy and atmosphere would have been at it's highest. This in my opinion was a case of a perfect storm occurring (in the best possible way) The band was more than up for it, Bono was in a good mood and the crowd were buzzing from the get go. Seriously, you had to be in GA to experience the incredible vibes that night. The greatest night of my life, edging out London 1 purely because I was in a better position on the floor. It's a lot harder for the crowd to be as engaged when so far back in the stadium, whilst it's understandable it's not substitute for the first few rows in GA by the main stage. Twickenham 2 was sublime!!
