Performance

Adam, Edge and Larry are playing surprisingly tight, error free (I just spotted one error by Adam during Pride) and with a lot of precision and gusto. Bono made up for his diminished vocal range and breathing with a ton of carisma and movements. Exit, Bad, Ultraviolet, Spanish Eyes were all wonderful gifts.

Sound

Sound is slightly muddy and flat without directionality or stereo image. Instruments and vocals sound powerful and centered. A bit of EQ is needed to make it sound better, but a great recording overall. Vocals, instruments and audience are mixed nicely thanks to recorder's positioning.
Recording: "MV88 [...] i5s - cleaned up master" - 3.5 stars

Audience

Unfortunately, audience participation was very cold due to enhibriation, cell phone usage (or abuse, rather) and, possibly, the general mood of the previous week (we had a major earthquate where several people died and many buildings collapsed). Clapping was sparse and quiet (at least from where I was standing) during the Joshua Tree songs but way stronger during post-2000 songs such as Beautiful Day, Elevation and Vertigo.

Overall

U2 played amazingly. Sound was superb, bass was deep and powerful as ever. Edge nailed all his parts perfectly (although he didn't play at all during his vocal solo part in You're The Best Thing About Me) which was odd (was Dallas playing in his place?), Bono was as warm and as engaging as ever, speaking in Spanish throughout the show. The "Cielito Lindo" snippet at the end of Bad was memorable and beautifully handled by the whole arena. Unfortunately, lack of audience participation and restraint made for a rather tame performance.
