Performance

Outstanding show, beautifully choreographed and staged, excellent sound, lights and video interactions with a setlist that just had to be experienced to be believed. There is absolutely no need for changes - Joshua Tree songs were not even noticed in their absence! This is the best rock show I've ever witnessed in 45 years.

Audience

A typical sophisticated Montreal audience that was very loud and appreciative of the performance. A few talkers around me (at $400+ for a ticket who has time and the inclination to talk?) but they didn't upset us too much. Always fun to see a show at the Bell Centre.

Overall

This is a tour de force by an act at the height of their creativity and performance powers. Songs of Innocence, experience and desire all came together in a well-crafted and well-paced show that was jaw-dropping in its presence and power. Yes, I would have liked to have heard Red Flag Day or Landlady (and Montreal may do so on night 2) but that minor annoyance in no way took away from the incredible show that we witnessed. $1700 for four seats in the Gold section was an insane price but I'm very happy and glad that we went. U2 were amazing!
