Band was on fire, and well rested after a full week off. Full of energy and were not mailing it in, in the least.

As is going to be the case in almost every single show you see regardless of the band, it is always going to be about the hits. Crowd was loud, and the GA (where I was located) were feeling it, but weren't jumping up and down or dancing as much as I thought they would be...perhaps the demographic is just getting older. American Soul seemed to get the loudest reception when the opening notes played, which was completely shocking to me.
Drove five hours to be in Montreal, with my 16 year old daughter for whom seeing U2 live was on her "bucket list". She slept most of the way and I listened to U2. When she finally did wake up about an hour away from the city, I played SOE the album for her, so she wouldn't be totally lost. I told her which ones they would be playing and which ones they wouldn't be. She took right away to Blackout and 13, and was looking forward to seeing them played live. A couple of hours before the show I was giddy like a school girl and sending out random texts to many people to tell them so. We arrived about an hour before the show, found a spot on the GA show floor and had a seat on the floor. The "seats" ended up being perfect. The opening three songs were amazing, especially if you love SOE as I do. A toned down Sunday Bloody Sunday was neat but lacked the usual oomph you come to expect from the performance of that song. Although not for everybody, 13 as the closer to the concert was absolute perfection for me.

First of two nights in Montreal, concert was a sell out with an enthusiastic audience. Standard setlist for previous shows on the tour and only slight changes with it being a Canadian performance.
Recording / Editing Notes:
Intro, Intermission and Interlude songs were split in to their own tracks. Any talking that occurred after a song was left tracked to that song, for the MacPhisto banter between "Desire" and "Acrobat" the majority was attached to "Desire". I edited the show to ensure each track started with that specific song.
First part of the concert was loud and near clipping whereas later it was a bit more reasonable. I found Edge's guitar to be quiet live and it came across that way in the recording too.

"I would go to the studio by day and club by night. I did a lot of ecstasy. A lot. The chorus for Please was written after Bono kept pleading with me to get off the carpet. I spent like an hour one night just dragging myself around the floor on my knees. In my defense, that carpet felt wonderful. Really great shag. We should get that rug back."

"At the start of the U2360° Tour, the band weren’t planning to shoot the Rose Bowl. They wanted to do a shoot in Fez, a town in Morocco in a ‘riad’ – a type of Moroccan house built around an open 360 degree courtyard – and there would be 100- 200 invited people there to see it."
