%BIGGIRL notes:
Contacting the taper quickly led to a nice conversation in which was decicided
upon a 16-bit version of this excellent recording with some additional mastering.
I used the 24-bit version that was shared on u2torrents instead of the raw master,
mainly for practical reasons. The Wavelab 6 "normalization" only added some
amplitude (without clipping), so no qualitive change had been made.
"De-clicking" with the iZotope RX05 was done pretty firmly. "Spectral Repair" was
used quite extensively to remove all sorts of rumble in the low region (hence an
additional "cut-off" of the 0-30 Hz region), and, too, to remove - or diminish at
least - the most intrusive screamings. Some low volume chat and an occasional cough
were left alone.
Lastly I used "EQ Match" to bring the recording close to "par" with the superior
second night recording of popmarter@gmail .

I had some difficult moments with getting to crowded in front of the stage but getting used ok.
When measuring the meters on the D100 the signal did look VERY much too loud, even all was set
in my standard mode. It was loud out there anyway.
Before the show, some people started to send me thx for the quality thesis
productions bring them. You are so good to me Thx guys and girls.
Anyway, I had a great time aswell inside and outside the Ziggodome that day and night before the show.
Went out looking around ArenA-area in the dark, for those who lost their way to the Dome and did
bring some people to the queue for their number.

Performance

What an impressive 2 days we had at The ZiggoDome Amsterdam (2018-10-07 / 08) with the U2eiTour!

The first day we're at the Redzone right in front of The Edge (best spot ever) and the second day at the seats right in front big LED zeppelin, so impresive!
What a particularly beautiful musical lesson from Bono, U2 and many of us about our innocence and experiences in life. Great words in very nice sensitive emotional and bombastic songs of high level.

I was rather septic about the songs from the album Songs of Experience in combination with the live show, but U2 has swept it off quite brutally. From the opening chords of The Blackout to the final notes of (13) There Is A Light there was lots of emotions, dancing, jumping and enjoying the live experience of the band. The voice of Bono was good, fragile beautiful in combination with the bombastic beats of Larry, the solid groovy bass beats of Adam and the fantastic guitar lines of The Edge.

Sound

The ZiggoDome is really one of the best places to hear live music!

Audience

The setlist was well-known in granite, with only a switch from Gloria to All Because of You on the second day of the show. Since Copenhagen, the whole Innocence segment has happily disappeared from the show. Iris, Cedarwood Road, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Until The End Of The World cleared the field for a block with Zoo Station, Stay and Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, all from the ZOO era, and from the album Achtung Baby. Fortunately also in Amsterdam both nights. I unfortunately still missed So Cruel & The Fly (also Achtung Baby).

But the with the openers The Blackout and Lights Of Home the band did a great job. Especially in combination with the LED Zeppelin screen and the use of the platform. For me the following songs were really fantastic: I Will Follow, Gloria, Zoo Station, Stay (Faraway, so close) Acrobat, New Year's Day, You're the Best thing about me, Summer of Love and of course Lights of Home.

Also the sheet of encounters with many known and unknown new U2 songs was very special. What does U2 release in people? So cool to enjoy music together. Striking was also the international diversity in Amsterdam! We met many Dutch, American, French, Belgian, Argentine, Italian, Irish, Canadian and Latin American U2 fans.

Overall

In short, it was a warm home in the ZiggoDome Amsterdam. Bono, Larry, Adam and The Edge, thank you so much for your music and life
