setlist

Performance notes: The atmosphere in the venue is hostile, and Bono's attempts to connect with and pacify the crowd do not prove successful. During the first verse of Pride, Bono stops the song to try to talk to the crowd more as fights continue. He then restarts the song.

Performance

A great performance featuring a band that delivers a tight show, featuring few mistakes present albeit with a few noticeable tech issues in places notably during the start of Wire and the ending to New Year's Day. Bono sounds fantastic and delivers excellent vocals on practically every song on the set. However, he's also tasked tonight with trying to calm down a hostile audience atmosphere, which he does by trying to chat with the audience between songs. It gets so bad that during Pride, he has to get the band to stop the song before restarting it soon after.

Overall

Overall, a mostly fantastic show from the European leg of the Unforgettable Fire tour, featuring both an interesting and memorable performance that not only features a strong band and vocal performance but is also backed up with some one-off snippet either for the tour or overall and these include Elvis Presley and America during Bad, The Cutter during Indian Summer Sky which is also noteworthy as it was only performed nine times in total and Let's Twist Again for the last time on Two Hearts Beat as One. Despite the flaws of the hostile audience atmosphere and tech issues in places, this is still an enjoyable performance that is a great predecessor to the amazing Scottish shows that follow soon after.

Highlights: Wire, The Unforgettable Fire, Surrender, Two Hearts Beat as One, A Sort of Homecoming, The Cry / The Electric Co. / Bad, Indian Summer Sky, New Year's Day
