Comments: First performance of Knockin' On Heaven's Door since December 1983. At the end of Wire, Bono seems to be about to snippet John Lennon's Give Me Some Truth as he had on previous nights recently, but then stops himself and announces Sunday Bloody Sunday. Disc 1, Disc 2 (01-03): February 5, 1985. Bologna, Italy. Teatro Tenda.
Disc 2 (04-11): October 14, 1980. Hilversum, Holland. KRO Studios.
Disc 1, Disc 2 (1-3): Excellent audience.
Disc 2 (4-11): Very good soundboard. There is some hiss, though.
Disc 2, Track 1 is "Party Girl", followed by "Gloria", both on the same track for some reason. Disc 1, Track 1 is the studio recording of "4th Of July," playing while U2 take the stage. A fine example of U2 live in the mid 80's. You'll probably find this one a bit difficult to find at this point in time. The jewel case is a thick double case, and it comes with an 8-page booklet complete with liner notes and 1985 tour dates. See also TOUCH. This is the original pressing on this label.

"One of the reason's for U2's longevity is that they are not in music for entirely selfish reasons. I don't want to make them appear as evangelists, which, of course, they were seen as by some sections of the music media in the early 80s, but I do believe that they really think what they do serves some greater purpose than simply filling their bank accounts."
- Brian Eno, 2009
