Performance

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a lead vocalist! For the first time on the tour, Bono sounds nothing but powerful from the start, adding some lovely grit to his voice during an excellent 'Where the Streets Have No Name' although Bono wants to go into the second verse again following the instrumental break for whatever reason. Following a slightly weaker but still fine 'Still Haven't Found', technical issues with Bono's mic force the band to go through 'Gloria's intro bar twice. Despite a weird air-out during the first verse, Bono gives a strong rendition of this and the following songs. 'Exit' sounds phenomenal with GREAT guitar work during the intro and the band popping off HARD. The Edge hits a bum note during the intro of 'New Year's Day'. 'The Unforgettable Fire' is literally fire with Bono even nailing the falsetto parts for a change.

Sound

Pretty average quality for a 1980s AUD from the US of A!
Recording: "Minerva Velasquez Master" - 3.5 stars

Audience

Bono stirs up the audience when he mentions Albuquerque but he saves it and seems to really wake up the audience from there as they really start adding to the show from there onwards.

• Running to Stand Still
• Exit
