Performance notes: A small group of fans are invited into the venue for the soundcheck and they witness performances of Dancing Barefoot (a Patti Smith cover U2 recorded for the When Love Comes To Town single but never played in concert) and She's A Mystery To Me (which didn't make its concert debut for another 2.5 months). In draft itineraries, an eighth Melbourne show at the same venue was listed for the next night, 1989-10-17. This show was never put on sale. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.

--Hawkmoon was so awesome. I wish they would play that more.
--Desire continues the awesome.
--All Along the Watchtower has the final verse this time. Neat.
--Bullet was raw and rough, in both the good and bad way.
--A lot more talking than usual, i.e. Running to Stand Still/I Will Follow.
--Streets was holy, duh, and love the Heartland snippet.
--Taping was screwed up during All I Want Is You & Pride, dang it!
--Bring on the B.B. King Orchestra - People Get Ready & Angel of Harlem were fun.
--B.B. King owned his section with them.
--New Year's Day & Party Girl rocked.
This show was a bad intro for me into the Lovetown tour and for one reason... THE SOUND! This recording was made on cheap cassettes and it shows. After listening to the UF Chicago bootleg, which sound better even though it's older, it shows that even cassettes can sound better than this. Recording: "Melbourne Memoirs Vol 6 (boyacrobat)" - 3 stars

what they said
"When I tell people 'I go on holidays with Bono' they look at me a little funny but it has actually worked out really well. We spent a lot of time there during 1994. That was our summer of love, as Bono calls it."

In September 1976, Larry Mullen, Jr. posted a notice on Mount Temple Comprehensive School's bulletin board to form a band. With seven responses to Larry's note, the band which were known at the time as The Hype, The Larry Mullen Band, Feedback and later U2 is whittled down to four as seen from 1980's debut Boy to the current day.
