1989-12-26 - Dublin, Ireland - Point Depot

setlist

Comments: The verse Bono sings at the end of One Tree Hill is completely improvised; it is not a snippet. Part of a William Wordsworth poem is read at the start of Where The Streets Have No Name in tribute to the recently deceased Irish poet Samuel Beckett. This show features the first use of God Part II as an opener - the only other time it takes this role is on 5 January 1990 in Rotterdam.

Performance

The band, in those years and in Dublin, was performing as with the devil inside. GREAT

Sound

Well, it's soundboard, and I prefer it rather than IEM
Recording: "X-mas At Point Depot" - 5 stars

Audience

I've been in Dublin several time to hear U2 live, but I've missed the fire at the old Point Depot .... great audience, great participation

Overall

One of the best, especially considering the Lovetown tour was so short
