Performance

A fairly middle of the road performance, Edge makes a few mistakes early on, particularly during The Fly, before things come together as a band. He has a few more technical issues during I Still Haven’t Found. There are still some songs that they nail. Early on there’s some nice vocals during Mysterious Ways, and One is well performed and received. Wild Horses is nice to hear though I don’t think it’s a particularly stellar performance. The crowd didn’t really buy into Tryin’ To Throw Your Arms Around the World, it fell a bit flat. It is Bad where the crowd start to really get involved and the run from here until the end of Pride is pretty strong. The transition between Bad and Bullet hits like a freight train. We have a little blip at the end of the main set but they come out and finish on a high in the encore.

Sound

Sound is good, all band members comes through clearly enough throughout. There are some prominent clappers here and there but it’s not too overpowering. On the whole it’s an easy listen.
Recording: "Bono Is A Dinky Trabant" - 3.5 stars

Audience

The audience seem to get a lot more into the show as we move away from the early run of Achtung Baby tracks. There’s a lot of appreciation from the attendees throughout, it just takes them a little while to find their voices.

Overall

Overall a fairly standard early Zoo TV show. There’s ups and there’s downs. Bono is in fine voice still at this stage of the leg and the set is strong on paper, but it doesn’t really take off until we’re halfway through.

Highlights:
- Bullet the Blue Sky (and the segue from Bad)
- Where the Streets Have No Name
- Love Is Blindness

Lowlights:
- The Fly
- Technical issues in I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
