Performance notes: Live debut of So Cruel. It is performed solely by Bono and he sings only half the song. The song appears only two more times live, both times with the full lyrics. This is also the first time Larry sings a cover of Wild Rover. Setlist and comment provided by U2gigs.com.

A mostly excellent performance from the band, who, for the most part, give strong and tight musical performances and fantastic vocals from Bono, who is truly giving it all despite having a few lyrical stumbles in places. While these highs are at the forefront of this show, as usual for these early Outside Broadcast shows, it does still have its share of mistakes as the band, while progressively getting better night after night, still has a few things to figure out most notably the band have trouble on New Year's Day and The Edge has a slightly rougher night when compared to the previous shows here.
Minus New Year's Day, the opening Achtung Baby run of songs is very good, although, as mentioned above, The Edge does have a few off moments in this segment of the show, with his most noticeable one being during The Fly. However, putting these quick minor guitar issues aside, most songs here are played well, and Larry, during his song segment, also takes it to sing Wild Rover for the first time tonight. Highlights from here are Mysterious Ways, One featuring Bono changing up lyrics in places, along with the uncommon snippet of She's A Mystery after the song and Until the End of the World.
The B-Stage continues the show, and it has to be one of the most memorable B-Stage sets on the entire tour, being packed to the brim with five songs (Six if you include the short snippet of Dancing Queen as a song) and it includes fun and loose performances mixed with some rarer appearances of songs in this segment too such as the stripped-down I Still Haven't Found which happens to be backed up once again by the 2nd and last B-Stage Stand By Me which is then continued by the first of three performances of So Cruel during the Zoo TV tour, while it's the shortest one about of the two we have it's still worthwhile as this is the only audience recorded show to feature it.
The Live Samples are well-performed, featuring strong band performances and Bono's exceptional vocals on all songs. The typical highs of the night were Bullet the Blue Sky's phenomenal Zoo TV-era guitar solos from Edge and Running To Stand Still, which leads into the amazing transition into Streets. As this leg goes on, I will admit that I am enjoying the run from Bad/Sunday Bloody Sunday to Pride a lot more.
Desire opens the full encore section if you ignore the fact the band have once again dropped Can't Help Falling In Love. This rendition is noteworthy because it's the first time on Outside Broadcast that a snippet appears on the song, with this snippet being Not Fade Away, which results in a slightly extended rendition due to this particular snippet's inclusion. Aside from that, the encores continue as usual, featuring terrific renditions of Ultra Violet and With or Without You before the show is closed by the lone Love Is Blindness.
Sound
The JEMS Brother KM recording is a very good listening experience for the most part, featuring a good capture of the music played on stage, even if the sound quality does slightly change in places and certain aspects get drowned out in places. However, it should be noted that this recording also has a noticeable audience atmosphere picked up, which does mean you will hear them in certain parts of the show. Especially from the B-Stage onwards, when the audience truly comes alive to the more familiar material. Recording: Audience microphone - 4 stars
Audience
The audience near where the JEMS recording taper is is noticeably very lively, especially from the B-Stage set onwards, with members constantly singing along with songs and sounding very engaged with what is happening throughout the show.
Overall
Overall, this is a very strong performance from the band that, despite its flaws in places such as the typical lyrical stumble and minor off moments from The Edg,e is full of fantastic and memorable moments such as the inclusion of rare songs which all-in-all make this show one of the best shows from the first month of the Outside Broadcast leg, it's just a shame that New Year's Day still needs working out because had the band got it sorted out here I would have probably given this a 5-star rating but still, New Year's Day aside this is a must-listen show from the leg and one that showcases a settled in band who are now ready to tackle the large stadiums present on this leg.
